Christmas in the City – the Complete Package
When you visit the London Silver Vaults you are in the City of London’s famous Square Mile. This Christmas the City is in festive mood and has joined with several of its well known shopping and cultural venues to turn the spotlight on the great shopping and cultural events going on in the City in the run up to Christmas. These events are all just a couple of bus or tube stops away from the Silver Vaults.
If you are after fashion labels you can browse without the crowds in Cheapside, one of London’s oldest shopping streets or the brand new mall at One New Change, next to St Paul’s.
There are several festive markets starting with the one in the splendid Victorian setting of Leadenhall Market from 16-20 November, a gifts market in aid of the British Red Cross in the majestic Guidlhall Great Hall on 19th November and a design market in the Barbican from 28 November to 22 December.
To round off a day of shopping there’s skating at Exchange Square, Broadgate until 10pm each evening; the glittering Cheapside Hoard of jewels is on view for the first time at the Museum of London and David Tennant is treading the boards at the Barbican as Richard II. If you are staying in town there are several Grange Hotels in the City offering five star luxury and special packages for City visitors.
And we look forward to seeing you on 5th December when the Silver Vaults stays open an extra few hours until 8pm for you to shop for unique silver gifts and enjoy festive cheer with us along with carol singing and brass band music. , Link to cityoflondon.gov.uk/christmas
