WHERE TO FIND US
The London Silver Vaults is located between Oxford Street in the West End and The City, in the heart of the Capital’s historic legal district.
Chancery Lane Underground Station is just a 5 minute walk. Holborn Underground Station is a 10 minute walk.
Alternatively, take a bus which travels between Bank and Holborn. The nearest stop is on High Holborn, and then a 2 min walk.
Or ask any registered black cab taxi driver. (London drivers of black cabs are required to find the Vaults when examined for the ‘knowledge’)
Hotels local to the Vaults: Rosewood London, 252 High Holborn London WC1V 7EN close to Holborn Tube (5 minutes walk), and Grange St Paul’s Hotel, 10 Godliman Street London EC4V 5AJ overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral (one stop by tube from Chancery Lane).
Within easy walking distance of the Vaults you will find: The Law Courts, Gray’s Inn, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Middle and Inner Temple, Sir John Soane’s Museum, Dr. Johnson’s House in Gough Square (off Fleet Street), Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn (frequented by Johnson and Boswell, Fleet Street), St. Bride’s Church, Fleet Street (by Wren, with its fanciful five-tiered spire), St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Romanesque church St. Bartholomew-the-Great in Smithfield (founded in the early C12th, one of the few remaining buildings of Norman origin, and the oldest church fabric in London after the Chapel of St. John in the Tower of London). And of course Leather Lane market and Hatton Garden, off Holborn Circus, and Ye Old Mitre Inn Ely Court, one of the oldest pubs in England. All these places are within easy walking distance of the Vaults and could be part of a great day out. The vibrant restaurants and bars of Chancery Lane, Smithfield and Lamb’s Conduit Street are also within easy reach.
