John Surtees has been in The London Silver Vaults for over 25 years and has worked directly with many of the dealers for almost 40 years. John started work in the Royal Mint 50 years ago, leading to a career as manager of a silver manufacturer and finally making the step to run his own business. Simon Surtees, his son, started his apprenticeship in The Vaults at the age of 16 years old and now manages the family business.
Utility remains a staple part of the business in the form of good quality silver tableware, both antique and modern, but also a movement towards more decorative, statement pieces, often of modern design.
